About Wood: Due to wood high reactivity, sunlight and repeated touching will cause it color to be richer and deeper. 

The Pea Pod is made by Green sandalwood, which color will gradually change to green with time pass.

When Green Sandalwood is stored for a long time, a layer of small white crystals may form on the surface. This 'frosting' is a natural protective layer formed when wood cellulose and resin come into contact with the air during oxidation and evaporation. This is a normal natural phenomenon for Green Sandalwood, indicating that the wood is rich in oils and of high quality.You can gently wipe off the surface frost, and then polish it with a clean cotton cloth (or your hand) to redistribute the oils evenly. This will help form a warm, lustrous patina (patina), enhancing its beauty and value."

Type of wood: Stemonuraceae and Melanoxylon.

Stemonuraceae: its a kind of wood which has gold-tinged orange hue. it appearance different color when you look from different angles. this kind of wood is highly active and dynamic. When it exposed to UV light, it oxidizes and deepens in tone. Over time, with hand polish(optionally with wood wax oil), it develops a smooth, glossy texture akin to fine jade.

The wood grain is relatively coarse, making intricate detailing challenging. Due to its high reactivity, direct sunlight will cause it to quickly darken to a rich burgundy-red. This color shift is a natural characteristic of the wood—prospective buyers should take note if this is a concern.

Dalbergia melanoxylon: it exhibits a brownish-purple hue before polishing, and transforms into a pure black or dark brown after polishing. Its enigmatic shades unfold as black conceals brown, while brown veils purple beneath. The wood is fine-textured, exceptionally hard, dense, and rich in natural oils, ensuring remarkable stability. Before applying wood wax oil, it presents a subtle matte black; after oiling, it reveals an elegant satin-black luster with nuanced gradients, echoing the mysterious elegance of a black panther.

Proper maintenance of wooden carvings

1. If nourishment is needed, a thin layer of wood wax oil can be applied with soft cotton cloth. Avoid using alcohol, copper oil, chemical cleaners, household cleaning agents, or furniture polish, as these can cause damage.

2. Avoiding grasping weak points like the tail, ears, or legs to prevent unnecessary damage. When moving the artwork, ensure the base is stable before gently placing it in position. Always hold it from the bottom during transport.

3. Avoid direct sunlight,high-humidity areas and heat sources to prevent excessive temperature or humidity differences, which may cause wood fading or deforming.

4. Wood carvings should be kept away from drastic environmental changes, which can easily cause deformation or cracking. It is advisable to place them in a long-term, fixed display location to maintain optimal display conditions.

5. Use a soft cotton cloth for cleaning, make sure tools are clean before use. Any foreign objects on the cotton cloth can damage the surface of the sculpture during cleaning.
